Nestled on the fringes of the vast forest reserve expanding over 800 sq kms of area, this resort attracts many animals. Bandipur Tiger Reserve and National Park – has one of the largest populations of endangered tigers in India. Bandipur National Park has the second highest Tiger population in India. Located in Gundulpet taluk, Chamarajanagar district, the park is part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, making it largest protected area in Southern India and largest habitant of Wild Elephants in South Asia. Bandipur National Park shares its boundary with 3 other National parks namely; Nagarahole National Park, Wayanad National Park and Mudumalai National park. There is a ban of traffic from 9pm to 6am, i.e., dusk to dawn, to avoid deaths of wildlife tigers, Indian elephants, leopards, Dhole, Sambar, Sloth bear, Chital and many more animals. Many species of birds are also spotted in the Bandipur National park.
